We got back from our road trip on Tuesday. We went from Utah, to Michigan, to Illinois, and then back home. We were gone for about 3 weeks.
Most of my dad’s side of the family lives in upper Michigan. I hadn’t been up there in over 5 years, so it was really nice to see everyone again!
My half-sister, Erin got married in Illinois last Saturday. After spending close to 2 weeks in Michigan, we drove to Illinois (the drive was about 7 hours) from Michigan to attend the wedding.
If you want to know more about what we did while we were away… HERE is a link to my last journal, it is basically a huge recap of our vacation!
I have a whole bunch of pictures from our vacation to share with you guys!
As far as our next trip goes…
Cameron had some dental issues that prevented us from leaving for the cabin on Wednesday like we had originally planned.
My mom invited some other family up for the first 5-6 days. There are so many people up there, I honestly don’t even think there would be space for me and Cam anyway. I believe there is currently 14 people there.
We have decided to head up there on Monday night or sometime on Tuesday.
We might be boarding two of our guinea pigs at the vet.
My brother watched the pets while we were in Michigan. He did a pretty good job for not knowing much about how to take care of guinea pigs. I have already have them scheduled to stay at the vet because the pigs can be a bit of a hassle. I thought that he wouldn’t want to deal with taking care of them, but he offered to watch them again while we are at the cabin. I don’t want to stress them out by changing their environment. It would also save money, which is always nice!
For Luna and Peanut to stay at the vet for 8 nights (hay, pellets, water) I think it will be close to $250.
They told me on the phone that I could provide their greens for the week, or they can charge an extra $5 per pig for each night of greens. I would take a supply of their food into the vet when I drop them off. This way, we can try to avoid the extra $10 per day. However, if the supply we bring in runs out, we will pay the extra $10 for the remainder of their stay at the vet. If the vet has to supply greens for 4 days, it will probably be closer to $300.
I would also have the vet trim their nails as well. With that being tagged on, I bet it would be closer to $350.
All of this being said, I am probably going to call the vet tomorrow and cancel their stay at the vet. I think it will be better for them to stay home. Plus, I trust that my brother will take good care of them while we are away.
We are going to bring Nala because we want to see how she does with traveling. Plus, it will be fun to have her with us! I took Nala to the vet yesterday afternoon to have her nails trimmed.
I am super-duper excited for cabin trip round 2! I still have a list of a few things to do before we leave. I already have the next few days planned out. I think we are planning on leaving Monday afternoon/evening.
